How To Become a Christian

Why should you become a Christian?

1. Having Jesus in your life will make your life better, now!

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

John 10:10

2. Eternal life vs. Eternal death!

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

3. Jesus wants to be in your life!

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

Revelation 3:20

Basically, we are made up of 3 parts: Physical, mental and spiritual.

If we have Jesus in our hearts, all 3 will be better! If we obey Him, our bodies will be better because it will help us to stay away from drugs, alcohol, and other things that harm our bodies. If we obey Him we will have a peace of mind that will encourage us to learn more and improve our minds. Most of us ignore our spiritual bodies. If you turn your life over to Jesus he will help us build our spiritual bodies, for here on earth and when we go to heaven!

What do I have to do to become a Christian?

Admit you have sinned! We all have! You have never met anyone who hasn't sinned. That includes you, your parents, your pastor, me, everyone. The only person on this earth that never sinned was Jesus.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:23

Believe in Jesus. If you want to be a Christian you have to believe in Christ. He died on a cross (a very painful way to go) just so that you could be forgiven of your sin. He didn't have to, but he did. And if you really believe in him, you have to try to keep his rules.

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his

name, he gave the right to become children of God.

John 1:12

Confess your sins. We have already pointed out that we have all sinned. We know it and Jesus knows it! He just wants us take a step up and tell him the truth, confess those sins.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

That's right! If you will Admit, Believe, and Confess, Jesus will take away all those nasty sins. Just like you never did them! We will feel brand new inside, because you will be!

If you take these steps and follow God's rules, you will feel better in your body, mind, and spirit.

Jesus,

I know I am a sinner. I believe that you paid the price for my sin by living a perfect life and dying for me. I confess those sins to you and ask you to forgive me. I love you, Jesus. Thank you for coming into my heart.

Amen.

What do I do now?

There's a lot of things. Now Satan is going to try and get you back! Don't let him get you! Here are some suggestions of things that will help.

1. Talk to Jesus (pray) every day.

2. Read his Word (the Bible) every day. No Bible? Bible@Kids4God.org

3. Hang around other Christians. You need to be friends with other Christians. The easiest way to find them is to go to church. GO! Go every time you can. This is a great church for the web, but it isn't as good as going to a sit down church. If your parents won't let you go (and that happens sometimes) then visit us and make friends with Christians at school.
